Range Rover SUV bags 10 international awards since October 2012

The Range Rover SUV by Land Rover, the British luxury car brand owned by the Indian carmaker Tata Motors has received 10 international awards since it was launched in the month of October 2012. The new Range Rover car model is the world’s first lightweight all-aluminium body SUV and is claimed to be suitable for all kind of terrains.

The new Range Rover launched in October 2012 is the world’s first aluminium monocoque SUV reducing its weight by 420 kilograms in comparison to the existing model.

Among the awards won by the new SUV are the ‘TECHNOBEST 2012’ from AUTOBEST, the ‘Dream Machine’ from Autoweek as well as the ‘Luxury Car of the Year’ award from both ‘What Car?’ and ‘Top Gear’.

Mr. John Edwards Global Brand Director Land Rover commenting on the achievements of the new luxury SUV stated that the lightweight construction of the Range Rover is attributed to the carmaker’s investment in technology and engineering. He added that the customers and international judges are now recognizing the true capabilities of the car model.
