Porsche to unveil new Panamera, Panamera 4 at Beijing Motor Show

Luxury sports-car maker, Porsche AG, will be unveiling the new, entry-level Panamera and Panamera 4 models at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2010. Both the models are powered by a new 3.6 litre, V6 engine, with Direct Fuel Injection technology, and comply with the Euro IV emission norms. They can run 100 kilometres on less than 10 litres of fuel. The Panamera comes with a rear-wheel drive and has a CO2 rating of 213g/km, while the Panamera 4 features an active all-wheel drive and has a CO2 rating of 220 g/km. The cars will be launched globally in May 2010, and will enter the Indian market in June 2010.

The lightweight construction of the two Gran Turismo models makes sure that their superior fuel economy does not come at the cost of performance. The cars’ axles, doors, engine compartment lid, wings and the rear lid all made either of aluminium or a combination of aluminium and magnesium, limiting their overall weight to just 1,730 kg.
