Porsche AG, the German sports car manufacturer, will launch its four-seat, four-door luxury saloon, the Porsche Panamera, towards the end of 2009. The company has around 650 cars, mostly Cayennes, running on Indian roads at present and it is very optimistic about its future in the country. There are only two Porsche dealers in India right now – one in Mumbai and the other in Delhi, but many more will come up in the following months. Ludhiana will be the third city to have a Porsche dealer.
“2009 is a consolidation year for us in India, while 2010 will be the year of the Panamera. We have high hopes for the Panamera in the country and are very excited about it,” Porsche India Managing Director Rod Wallace said at the World Roadshow organised by the company.
