Polaris India partners with National Disaster Response Force

Polaris India, the Indian arm of Off-Road and All-Terrain Vehicles manufacturer Polaris Industries has announced that it will be partnering with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to carry out relief and rescue operations.

The automaker showcased its Off-Road Ambulance vehicle at the 10th Raising Day Ceremony of the NDRF. The ambulance has been developed on a Polaris Ranger® 6×6 800 chassis in association with Bafna Healthcare Private Limited. It has the capability of providing medical relief and helps evacuate patients from areas otherwise inaccessible.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Pankaj Dubey Managing Director Polaris India stated that the automobile manufacturer aims to provide NDRF the edge required to save and support human lives. The All Terrain Vehicles by the automaker have been a part of the relief of operations during disasters in Jammu and Kashmir and Kedarnath. It has also collaborated with the Uttarakhand government to extend support and accelerate the relief operations with five ATVs during the catastrophic flood in 2013.

The vehicles are capable of moving in rough terrains such as desert, sand, snow and hills where normal vehicles fail to run. Among the features that enable these vehicles to move swiftly in rough terrains are all-wheel drive and high ground clearance capacity in addition to a large tank capacity (water/foam).

It specializes in fabricated various Emergency Critical Care Ambulances, Mobile Clinics, Mobile Hospitals, and Neonatal Ambulances for several Government departments, leading Private Hospitals, corporate houses, medical institutions and 108 Ambulance service Providers.
