Nissan India unveils MUV Evalia on September 26, 2012

Nissan India, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has introduced the Multi-utility vehicle Evalia in the Indian auto market on September 26, 2012 with a price range of Rs 8,49,000 to Rs 9,99,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The seven-seater Evalia will be offered in four diesel variants equipped with Renault’s S 1.5 litre K9K dCi engine which offers power of 85 bhp and torque of 200Nm.

According to Mr. Toru Hasegawa Corporate Vice President (Africa, Middle East and India) Nissan Motor Co., the Evalia is part of the company’s Nissan Power 88 global plan under which Nissan will launch 10 new car models by the 2015-16 fiscal. The company will be launching 2 car models every year till 2016. The automaker plans to focus on the price sensitive segments in the Indian car market.

Nissan is also considering production capacity expansion with future investment plans in India in order to fuel its global target of launching 51 new car models by 2015-16.
