Nissan India to launch the online car sales

Nissan India, the Indian arm of the Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Company has announced that it will soon commence selling of cars online through Nissan India’s website. The customers will have the option to book a car online through credit card payment following which the car will be delivered to the customer by the nearest Nissan dealer.

Skoda Auto India also started a similar service in the month of October 2013 wherein the customers can book a Skoda car with an advance payment of Rs 5,000. According to industry experts, online sales is an experiment which may prove favorable to carmakers such as Nissan and Skoda which have low sales volume and have a small presence in terms of service points. The service will enable customers from smaller cities and towns to order online and own a Nissan car.

According to Mr. Praveen Sinha, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Jabong.com, the consumers in small towns and cities often have to travel to larger cities to book and buy cars. Targeting such markets and consumers may bring in sizeable orders, he added.
