Mitsubishi introduces their new Android-based infotainment system

It seems that infotainment systems are the new technological advancement when it comes to added features for car owners, and now Japanese car maker Mitsubishi has just come up with their latest new system to enhance the driving experience. However the first prototype of the app-based system will be featured in a Cadillac.

The FLEXConnect In-Vehicle Infotainment system provides a cost effective three-screen user interface. By combining swipe and touchscreen technology, the user can easily and safely interact with the heads-up display and instrument cluster on the center panel. Built on an Android platform, the center touchscreen allows easy sharing of navigation, media and climate functionality with the instrument panel and heads-up display. There is a large 12.1-inch portrait mode display that allows users the flexibility to access one to three features simultaneously. With full-screen, half-screen and one-third screen displays, users can access navigation only, navigation and media player, or navigation, media player and climate controls. This looks like the future of heavy-duty infotainment systems heading our way.
