MINI will be launched in India, announced BMW the owner of the legendary British brand at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011.
Mr. Ian Robertsona, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Sales and Marketing, stated that the brand will bring to India the hatchback, convertible and countryman range of MINI vehicles at a competitive price tag. While Mini hatchback is the latest version of the original Mini, the convertible is the open top variant of the hatchback. Like the trend witnessed world over, the company is expected to introduce the second generation MINI in India. The second generation MINI which in terms of its looks is not very different from its predecessors comes with new improved safety and comfort features.
Currently, the company is carrying out feasibility reports for assembling its cars at BMW India’s Chennai plant. MINI plans to set up its own dealerships across the nation.
