Mini showcase their fastest car – ever

Every year there is a Mini United Festival which sprang to life during 2005 when the first MINI United Festival in Misano, Italy, established a common bond that has since exploded into an official community of passionate and spirited fans. This year the festival was bigger and better with races, stunts, competitions and music bringing in Mini fans from all over the world. To celebrate their success and show the direction of the company, Mini unveiled its fastest production car ever developed – the Mini John Cooper Works GP.

While the next generation of Mini cars is already in development, the company showcased this bashful little car that is a proper race car. According to the company it has lapped the Nürburgring in 8min 23sec which is faster than every previous Mini kit car. This JCP GP car is lighter by 40 kilos and more powerful than the previous car which had 210bhp and a limited slip differential. The current JCW GP is fitted with adjustable race suspension and high performance braking system as well as a race tuned ECU. One look at the car and you can tell the custom aerodynamics are redeveloped and looks great. What’s got us all excited is that the car will actually reach production and only 2000 will be made that will go on sale later this year.
