Mercedes GLE officially unveiled

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the 2016 GLE, which is all set to be showcased at New York. Th new GLE is essentially the facelift version of the M-Class, but its adopts the GLE nameplate. The car look familiar with its design but gets a new front fascia with a revised grille and restyled headlights. The rear section has also been updated and gets new LED taillights and a sportier exhaust system. The car will also be available in AMG variants which look more aggressive thanks to the sportier components such as front bumper, 20-inch wheels and a rear diffuser, and four-tailpipe exhaust system. The interiors get a new multi-function steering wheel and a new infotainment system. Under the hood, the car will come in four different variants including a twin turbo 3.0 litre V6 with 330bhp, a twin turbo 4.7 litre V8 with 430bhp, a 2.1 litre 4-cylinder turbodiesel with 202bhp, and a 3.0 litre turbodiesel with 256bhp.

Then there is also the GLE 63 AMG that comes with a twin-turbo 5.5 liter V8 engine that develops 550bhp and 700 Nm of torque.  It enables the crossover vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. If that is not enough power then you can go for a even more powerful version in the form of the GLE 63 AMG S, and this beast features the same engine with a higher output of 575bhp and 760Nm of torque. for the first time ever, Mercedes customers can also order buy the GLE 500 e 4MATIC plug-in hybrid, which features a 3.0-liter BlueDIRECT V6 engine and an 8.8 kWh lithium-ion battery plus a seven-speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission with an integrated electric motor.  The pug-in variant gets an output of 440bhp and 650Nm of torque and while maintaining a fuel economy of 3.3 litres / 100 km.
