Mercedes-Benz India launched the GL 63 AMG to its AMG high-performance range of models in India, priced at Rs. 1.66 crores ex-Showroom in Mumbai.
The GL 63 AMG is the go-faster, performance-oriented version of the SUV and power by 5,461cc V8 engine technology that delivers 557hp of power between 5,250-5,750rpm and 760 Nm of maximum torque between 2,000-5,000 rpm. It is capable to reach from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds while top-speed electronically limited to 250 km/h, mated with AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission. In the EU tests, the GL63 claims an average fuel consumption of 8.13 km/l and emits 288 g/km of CO2.
The regular Mercedes GL Class model is locally assembled at Chakan, Maharashtra plant but the GL63 AMG would be as the CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) model.

- C-Class C 63 AMG
- E-Class E 63 AMG
- SLK Class SLK 55 AMG
- G-Class G 63 AMG
- GL-Class GL 63 AMG
Company is also planning to launch the CLA-Class CLA 45 AMG model, which was previewed at the Auto Expo 2014 in Feb.
