Mercedes-Benz India, the Indian arm of the German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes Benz has set a target of 58 percent growth for its research unit by the end of the 2014-15 fiscal. The carmaker has also appointed Mr. Manu Saale as the in-charge of the Bangalore based research facility, the first Indian to head the unit in 18 years.
Experts at the facility which is known as the Mercedes Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) are of the opinion that an increment in the research and development activity in the passenger car segment has the ability to power the growth of the R&D unit’s business by 58 percent.
Commenting about the development, Mr. Manu Saale, CEO-designate of the center stated that the facility will be the key in understanding the maturity and readiness of the Indian car market.
Mr. Saale further added that the most promising auto segment is currently the passenger car segment in India which will enable immense growth in the coming years.
