Mercedes-Benz India launches Grand Edition M-Class

German luxury car company, Mercedes-Benz, launched the M-Class ‘Grand Edition’ in India this week. The new M-Class is available in a Sports Edition and an Executive Edition, priced at Rs 54.11 lakh and Rs 47.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. It will compete with the BMW X5, the Audi Q5 and the Audi Q7. Mr Wilfried Aulbur, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said in a press statement that considering the loadings and features of the M-Class, its latest variants were very aggressively priced. The company had launched the new M-Class in India in 2009. Aulbur added that the M-Class would exceed the expectations of those who expected their vehicles to meet the highest standards.

The luxury SUV market in India has shown significant growth since last year, with overall sales in the segment touching 1,367 units in the whole of 2009 and 1,396 units in just the first nine months of 2010.
