Maruti Suzuki India’s sales flat in September

India’s leading car maker, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd sold 71,000 units in the month of September 2008 as compared to 67,448 units sold in September 2007, thus registering growth of 5 per cent. The domestic sales accounted for 64,682 units in 2008 as compared to 62,672 units in 2007 registering a growth of 2.5 per cent. The exports accounted for 6,318 units in 2008 as compared to 4,362 units in 2007 registering growth of 45 per cent.

The A1 segment (800) sold 3,467 units declining by 34 per cent. The A2 segment (Alto, Wagon-R, Zen Estilo, Swift) sold 45,621 units declining by 1.3 per cent. The A3 segment (Dzire, SX4) sold 7,413 units growing by 52 per cent. The C segment (Omni, Versa) sold 7,416 units growing by 17 per cent and the MUV segment(Grand Vitara, Gypsy) sold 765 units growing by 85 per cent.
