Maruti Suzuki India posts 12.6 percent decline in total sales for June 2013

Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India has witnessed a decline of 12.6 percent in its total sales for the month of June 2013. The carmaker sold a total of 84,455 units in the month in comparison to 96,597 units sold in the same month in 2012.

The domestic sales of the Japanese carmaker fell 7.8 percent in the month of June 2013, selling 77,002 units compared with 83,531 units in June 2012. The exports of the company also fell by 43 percent with 7,453 units for the month of June 2013 against 13,066 units sold in the same month in 2012.

While the mini car segment including the M800, the Alto, the A-Star and the WagonR car models saw a decline of 43 percent from 34,198 units in June 2012 to 31,314 units sold in June 2013, the compact segment of carmaker entailing the Estilo, the Swift and the Ritz car models.
