Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India has launched a revamped version of its small car WagonR at a starting price of Rs 3,58,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The company expects the car launch to boost its sales amid slowdown in the Indian car industry. The new WagonR has been priced higher than the existing version by approximately Rs 10,000.
The new version of the small car is claimed by the company to provide a mileage of 20.51 kilometers per liter which is 8 percent higher than that of the existing car model. According to Mr. Manohar Bhat Vice President (Marketing) Maruti Suzuki India, the carmaker has incorporated changes in the small car in accordance with the customer feedback received through regular customer engagement programs.
The new WagonR offers smoother gear shift, lower maintenance costs along with improved mileage. While the base variant of the car is priced at Rs 3,58,000, the LXi variant of the car cost Rs 3,88,000 and the top variant VXi has a price tag of Rs 4,13,000. The CNG version of the new car model is priced at Rs 4,42,000.
