Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India is conducting a Mileage Drive Rally on the occasion of 5th year of the DZire car model in India. The rally is being conducted across 31 cities and is part of the carmaker’s strategy of increasing awareness about the performance and efficiency of its car products.
According to Mr. Manohar Bhat Vice President of Marketing Maruti Suzuki India, the Indian automaker is witnessing significant competition across all segments in which it operates. He stated that the carmaker expects to connect with its customers through this rally event.
Mr. Bhat added that the DZire sedan by Maruti Suzuki has been the largest selling sedan in India since its launch in 2007 and the carmaker plans to retain its leadership position.
The DZire sedan faces tough competition from the newly launched Honda Amaze compact sedan which is claimed by Honda to be the most efficient car in India with a mileage of 25.8 kilometers per liter for the diesel version and 18 kilometers per liter for the petrol version. The DZire in comparison has a lesser efficiency of 19.1 kilometers per liter for the petrol engine and 23.4 kilometers per liter for the diesel engine.
