Maruti Suzuki acquires 494 acres land at Hansalpur Gujarat

Maruti Suzuki India has purchased land of about 494 acres at Hansalpur in the Ahmedabad district in Gujarat at a price of almost Rs 133.1 crore in order to establish its car manufacturing facility in the state. Government officials confirmed the news stating that the company has already paid the stamp duty for the land. However, the official added that the deal will be finalized after approval from the state cabinet.

The largest carmaker in India has been planning this move to Gujarat since the latter half of the year 2011 and will join the list of automakers setting up base in the state namely General Motors, Tata Motors and Ford India. The company also announced its plans to invest an amount close to Rs 18,000 crore in its future expansion plans.

The company is also planning to support a vendor park and other requisites of infrastructure and investment for the same.
