Maruti Suzuki has finally launches its multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) seven-seater Ertiga on Thursday 12th of April 2012. The Ertiga priced between Rs 5.89 lakhs and Rs 8.45 lakhs, basically its competition, with Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. It will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant is powered by a K-series 1.4 litre engine which produces 95 PS of power and claimed fuel economy of 16 kmpl. The diesel engine FIAT sourced 1.3 litre DDiS which also does duty in the SX4 and generates 90 PS of power and claimed for fuel economy of 20 kmpl.
It is inspired and mixed combination of Swift and the Ritz. It is also considerably shorter than the other MPVs available in the market. Like most other Marutis sold in India, the Eritga will be sold in three variants in both the petrol and the diesel guise. All variants, apart from the base petrol model, will be equipped with anti-lock brake system.
