Kawasaki launches Versys 650

Kawasaki has bolstered its lineup in India with the launch of Versys 650. The Versys 650 is essentially based on the Kawasaki Nnja 650 and eR-6N naked motorcycle, and it is also powered by the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine found in those bikes.  The engine produces 69bhp of power and 64Nm of torque. The bike will be imported as a complete knock down (CKD) unit from Thailand and assembled in India.

The Versys 650 will be retailed through the existing Probiking Sales Network operated by Bajaj India and has been priced at Rs 6.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Speaking at the occasion, Mr Yoshitaka Tamura, Managing Director, India Kawasaki Motors said, “With this engine, with this chassis, I’m sure these models are excellent offer to the market in India. There are some other models coming with the same mission as two. I’m sure they can bring another level of fun and excitement to this market.”
