Jaguar Land Rover, the British luxury car brand wholly owned by Indian carmaker Tata Motors has launched the Jaguar XJ Ultimate luxury sedan in India with a price up to Rs 1.88 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). With the launch of the new car model, the carmaker expects to boost its sales in the Indian car market.
The new luxury car is equipped with a 5.0 liter V8 supercharged petrol engine and optionally a 3.0 liter V6 turbocharged diesel engine. The car features an eight-speed transmission mated to the engine that drives the rear wheels.
The petrol variant XJ with the 5.0 liter V8 engine is available at a price of Rs 1.88 crore (ex-Showroom Delhi), while the diesel variant with the 3.0 liter engine is priced at Rs 1.78 crore (ex-Showroom Delhi).
The carmaker is also in the process of launching a new Jaguar XF variant which would be assembled in India at Tata Motors’ Pune manufacturing facility enabling a cost reduction of more than Rs 12,00,000. The car would be equipped with a 2.2 liter diesel engine and would be introduced in the Indian market at a price of Rs 44,50,000 (Ex-showroom Mumbai).
