Japanese manufacturer Isuzu has just inaugurated its new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Sricity Andhra Pradesh. The inauguration ceremony was conducted as the first ever made in India D-Max pickup rolled off the assembly line. The new generation ‘Isuzu D-Max V-Cross’ is India’s First Adventure Utility Vehicle, and was rolled-out of the plant by the Chief Minister and Mr. Masanori Katayama, President, Isuzu Motors Limited, Japan, to mark the commencement of production at the new facility. The new manufacturing facility at SriCity is spread over an area of 107 acres and has a production capacity of 50,000 units that can be scaled up to 120,000 units in future.
The new generation of Isuzu D-MAX pick-ups will be manufactured at the plant with 70% localisation at the start of production that will be increased in future. Isuzu already manufactures cars in Japan, Thailand and U.S.A already existing, and now this plant in India will add to the manufacturing operations of Isuzu, globally. The D-MAX V-Cross (4×4) is India’s First Adventure Utility Vehicle. A globally proven off-roader with a capable 4WD. The V-Cross is also a premium 5-seater urban vehicle. It is powered by a 134bhp CRDi engine and is compliant with BS-IV emission norms.
