Hyundai Motor India Limited on November 22, 2011 launched the LPG variant of its i10 compact car. The new car variant is priced up to Rs. 4,30,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi). The LPG driven car is equipped with a 1.1 liter engine and the LPG option is available in the Era and the Magna variants of the i10. In comparison to the existing petrol model, the LPG variant will cost higher by Rs. 27,630.
HMIL Managing Director and CEO, Mr. HW Park stated, “The LPG version of our Next Gen i10 is a viable alternative for customers looking at low running cost.” The launch of an LPG variant in the i10 is part of the company’s eco-friendly initiative, said Mr. Park.
The company has named the LPG variant as the ‘Blue drive’ which is factory fitted with an LPG kit that meets the global standards of safety and performance. The new car variant has separate fuel tanks for petrol and LPG with the capacity of 35 liters and 34 liters respectively. According to the company, the car offers the option to switch between the LPG and petrol modes.
Moreover, the customers will also enjoy 2-year manufacturer warranty benefits with the LPG system installed by Hyundai.
