Unfortunately in India, when it comes to premium cars the badge which the car wears is far more important to customers than how it drives. Yes that is true as we have seen the Suzuki Kizashi fail to make an impact on the premium sedan market in India. The Suzuki Kizashi was no doubt a brilliant car and we enjoyed driving it, but its biggest problem was that it had a Maruti Suzuki badge, which was not seen as being premium enough for customers who look for cars in that segment.
And now to give it a bump in the market the Japanese car maker is offering a whopping Rs 3 lakh discount on the car. Between April and August of 2012 only 20 units of the car were sold, so now the company is hoping this number will increase over the next period thanks to its new discounted price. The Kizashi which features a 2 litre petrol engine will now cost a little over Rs 14 lakh, but we still don’t see many buyers for the car as it is still overpriced. What Suzuki India needs to is start localization of the car to bring the price down even further and only then will we see prominent sales of a very good car.

This car will surely be a SUPER HIT if and only if it comes with a diesel engine & Automatic transmission.
In India as we all know that people here are price conscious and also Maruti never introduced a premium segment car in all these year , it is unfortunate that people have stored in their mind that maruti is only for middle or lower middle class, and after launching the kizashi only in petrol was a huge mistake just like honda did , I would suggest Maruti Suzuki to get diesel variant ASAP.
