Honda’s new 2018 Monkey Bike is super cool!

Honda’s little Monkey bike has always been an iconic motorcycle. After being in production for nearly 50 years Honda has just given its little monkey a new lease of life. First developed in the 60’s, now, Honda’s genuinely iconic mini-bike has been re-imagined for the current times. While the styling still draws inspiration from the original, for 2018 the Honda Monkey Bike is complemented by modern and upscale touches such as USD forks, twin rear shocks, LCD instruments, IMU-based ABS and full LED lighting. The bike also looks very cool and fun loving thanks to the compact and scaled down dimensions, and miniature looking components. The glossy 5.6 litre fuel tank is finished in the same paint colour as the frame, swing arm and rear shocks, and proudly wears a historical 3-D Old Wing design Honda logo.

The chromed steel front and rear mudguards – plus the evocatively-stamped exhaust shield, circular mirrors and high-rise handlebars – all pay homage to the original. With a weight of just 107kg, it gets a 125cc air-cooled engine that can deliver 9.2bhp and 11Nm of torque, and can deliver a fuel economy of 67km/l. These figures promise to offer a big bag of fun to ride around town with. The 2018 Monkey 125 will be available in three colour schemes – Banana Yellow/Ross White, Pearl Nebula Red/Ross White, and Pearl Shining Black/Ross White. There is no news of the bike coming to India yet. However, with the Honda Navi being a big success in India, there does seem to be some interest for such a cute and lovable machine, but at a reasonable price.
