Honda India unveils the fourth generation City sedan with diesel option

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese car manufacturer Honda has unveiled the fourth generation of the City sedan car model with a diesel option for the Indian car market. The new Honda City hits the Indian roads in the month of January 2014.

The new car will be equipped with the new 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine developed by the Japanese automobile manufacturer for the Indian auto market. The petrol version of the sedan will be powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine. The carmaker has opened the pre-bookings for City sedan ahead of its launch in 2014.

The fourth generation Honda City sedan will be the second car model by Honda to be launched in India with a diesel engine option. According to Mr. Yoshiyuki Matsumoto Managing Officer Honda Motor Company, the new City will be made available in various global auto markets.

The introduction of a diesel engine option in its Indian car portfolio has enabled the Japanese carmaker to boost sales and gain volume sales in the Indian car market.
