Honda India recalls 31,226 cars to inspect possible defect

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has announced a recall of 31,226 cars across the Amaze sedan and the Brio hatchback models.

The recall has been implemented in order to check a possible defect in the brake system in select models of the Amaze and the Brio. The affected models include the non-ABS petrol variants of the car models. The total recalled cars comprise of 15,603 units of the Amaze sedan and 15,623 units of the Brio hatchback.

The component to be inspected by the automaker is the proportioning valve which is part of the system that regulates the distribution and pressure of the brakes to the wheels. Any replacement costs if required in the component will be borne by the carmaker.
