Honda India recalls 11,500 units of the CBR 250R bike

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), the Indian two-wheeler manufacturing arm of the Japanese automaker Honda has announced the recall of 11,500 units of the CBR 250R premium motorcycle. The recall of the bikes manufactured in India has been implemented due to a defect in the braking system.

The two-wheeler manufacturer has recalled the Standard variant of the CBR 250R bikes manufactured in the period of March 2011 to September 2012. The recall has been initiated on November 19, 2012 through the authorized dealerships of the company and the customers are being informed to bring their two-wheelers to the service stations for a rectification that takes less than an hour.

Commenting about the braking problem in the bike, the company stated that the front brake application has a possibility of limited ineffectiveness. The company added that the defect would not affect the braking functionality and effectiveness in normal riding conditions.
