Honda India posts 151 percent increase in November 2013 sales

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has posted an increment of 151 percent in its sales for the month of November 2013. The carmaker sold a total of 9,332 units in the month in comparison to 3,711 units sold in November 2012.

The sales growth was lead by the Amaze sedan with 7,598 units, followed by the Brio hatchback with 1,712 units. The CRV sports utility vehicle by the carmaker sold 22 units. The exports by Japanese automaker stood at 806 units for the month.

Commenting on the sales increase of the automaker, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Senior Vice-President (Marketing & Sales) Honda India stated that the growth was powered by the newly launched Amaze sedan. The Amaze sedan is Honda’s first car model in India being offered with a diesel engine option.

Mr. Sen added that the upcoming launch of the fourth generation City sedan with a diesel engine option is expected to further boost its sales in India and enable expansion in market share.
