Honda India posted sales growth of 45 percent during April – June 2013

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese carmaker Honda recorded a growth of 45 percent in its sales for period April – June 2013. The growth is attributed to the launch of the Amaze sedan which is the carmaker’s first car model with a diesel option in India.

The Amaze sedan launched in the month of April 2013 recorded sales of 22,000 units in the April – June 2013 quarter. The car has been claimed by the company as India’s most fuel-efficient car offering a mileage of 25.8 kilometers per liter for the diesel version.

According to the Japanese automaker, the sales of the Amaze sedan have surpassed all expectations and the car model currently has a waiting period of 3-5 months for delivery. The carmaker is in the process of ramping up production of the sedan to meet the demand.

The price of the sedan starts at Rs 4,99,000 for the petrol version, while the diesel version top model is priced at Rs 7,60,000.
