Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has posted a 45 percent increment in its domestic sales for the month of September 2014. The carmaker sold a total of 15,015 units in comparison to 10,354 units sold in the same month in 2013.
The sales increment was led by the Mobilio multi-utility vehicle which sold 5,329 units followed by the mid-sized sedan City which sold 4,600 units. The Amaze compact sedan sold a total of 3,848 units while the Brio small car sold 1,152 units in the month. The automaker also sold 86 units of the CR-V sport utility vehicle.
The Japanese automaker also exported a total of 38 units during the month of September 2014. Commenting about the sales performance of the carmaker, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Honda Car Sales stated that festive season has enabled a strong demand in the month.
The carmaker is witnessing significant demand for the City sedan the production of which was resumed in September 2014. Mr. Sen stated that the carmaker will be ensuring better availability and timely deliveries to fulfill the increasing demand.
