Honda Cars India posts 30 percent growth in domestic sales in April 2014

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has reported an increase of 30 percent in its sales for the month of April 2014.

The Japanese carmaker sold a total of 11,040 units in the domestic market in April 2014 in comparison to 8,488 units sold in the same month in 2013.

The sales growth in the month was led by the recently launched City premium sedan with 7,044 units, followed by the Amaze compact sedan with 3,355 units and the Brio hatchback with 578 units. The carmaker also sold 63 units of the CR-V sports utility vehicle in the month of April 2014.

The exports of the company for April 2014 stood at 402 units.

Commenting on the April 2014 sales performance, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Honda Cars India stated that the automaker has started the fiscal 2014-15 on a positive note owing to the response to the new Honda City in the Indian car market.
