Honda Cars India posts 123 percent growth in February 2014

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has posted a growth of 123 percent in its sales for the month of February 2014. The carmaker sold a total of 14,543 units in the month in comparison to 6,510 units in the same month in 2013.

The increment in sales was headed by the newly launched fourth generation City sedan with 7,213 units, followed by the Amaze compact sedan with 6,030 units. The Brio small car posted sales of 1,235 units in the month while the carmaker sold 65 units of the CRV sports utility vehicle.

Apart from the domestic sales, the carmaker also exported a total of 252 cars during February 2014.

Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Honda Cars India stated that the deliveries for the petrol model of the City sedan have already begun in February 2014. He added that the recent inauguration of the new production plant will further enable the carmaker to reduce the waiting period for each car model.

Further, Mr. Sen added that the reduction of excise duty has made the pricing of its cars more attractive for its buyers.
