Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda is planning to expand its sales and service network in India in order to meet the increase in demand for its car products.
The quantum of expansion for its sales and service network currently being considered by Honda is 35 percent for the fiscal 2014-15 over its existing network of dealers. The Japanese automaker has posted a growth of 83 percent in its sales for the fiscal 2013-14. The carmaker sold a total of 1,34,339 in the fiscal 2013-14.
Currently the automaker has a total of 170 dealerships across 107 cities in India which it targets to increase to 230 facilities across 150 cities by the end of the fiscal 2014-15.
With network expansion, Honda India expects to fulfill the surge in its sales in the fiscal 2013-14 and prepare for the sales of the Amaze compact sedan and the new Honda City mid-size sedan. The network expansion will also enable the carmaker to boost sales of the upcoming Mobilio MPV and the new Jazz premium hatchback which are to be launched in the year 2014.
