GM to bring smaller SUVs, pick-up trucks to India

General Motors Corporation is all set to expand its presence in India. The company is planning to introduce smaller SUVs and pick-up trucks in the country, sourced from its Chinese partner Wooling Motors. GM India aims to sell 200,000 vehicles in the next 5 years. Apart from mini-vans and pick up trucks, it is focusing on its core segment – that of small cars.

Already, an automatic version of the Captiva has been launched in India. Two more cars from GM’s stable are expected to follow in the coming months – the Chevrolet Cruze (sedan) and a mini car which will be launched by the end of 2009.
