GM India plans 3 new launches to improve sales

The Indian arm of the of the American automobile manufacturer General Motors India (GM India) has plans to launch 3 new car models in the Indian car market with the aim of boosting sales and cash-in on the high demand in the small car segment in India.

The company is expected to replace the Aveo UV-A hatchback and Aveo sedan with its Sail brand of hatch and sedan combo. The Chevrolet Spark small car is also likely to be revamped with new designs and features.

According to Mr. Lowell Paddock President and MD GM India, the company is considering bringing in new products and discarding old ones to bring newness to its portfolio in India with focus on the premium hatchback and small sedans. He added that both petrol diesel car models will be introduced in order to cater to a larger customer base.
