GM India hires Arvind Saxena as President and MD

General Motors India, the Indian arm of the American automobile manufacturer General Motors (GM) has appointed Mr. Arvind Saxena as its new President and Managing Director. Mr. Saxena will be succeeding Mr. Lowell Paddock who’ll be heading GM’s international operations as Vice President (Planning & Programme Management).

Prior to this position, Mr. Saxena held the position of Managing Director at the German auto maker Volkswagen Passenger Cars India which he quit to join General Motors. He has also held the Head of Sales position at Hyundai India before joining Volkswagen India.

Commenting on the appointment of Mr. Arvind Saxena at his new position, Mr. Stefan Jacoby GM Executive Vice-President and President GM International Operations stated that the company expects Mr. Saxena to lead the carmaker successfully given his extensive experience in the auto industry.

His experience in the Indian auto industry also includes working with carmakers such as Escorts, Bajaj Auto, Maruti Udyog and Fiat India.
