Ford India expands dealership network with 45 new outlets

American automobile manufacturer Ford Motors’s Indian subsidiary Ford India has opened 45 new dealer outlets in 35 cities across India in order to expand its dealer network and presence in India. According to Mr. Michael Boneham Ford India President and Managing Director, the company will be launching new dealer outlets every 10 days and plans on introducing eight new car models in India by 2015. Out of the eight cars to be launched, two have already hit the Indian market, namely the Ford Figo and the Ford EcoSport.

Mr. Boneham added that 40 percent of the 45 new outlets have been opened in tier II and tier III cities. With the addition of the new outlets, the company now has a total of 230 dealer outlets in India across 123 cities.

Commenting on the progress of the EcoSport which was unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, Mr. Boneham stated that the company is in the process of commencing the commercial production of the car model.
