Force Motors is not a new automobile maker in the country. It has been around since 1958 and was created by N. K. Firodia, with the vision to provide affordable commercial transport for the masses by harnessing the best available technology and offering economical, reliable and efficient products. At the 2013 International Bus and Utility Show, Force Motors launched the Gurkha, and calls it the world’s first E.O.V (Extreme Offroader Vehicle) 4x4x4.
The Gurkha is powered by the 2.6 liter Mercedes OM 616 derived turbo charged intercooled engine. This proven engine produces 82bhp has a torque of 230Nm, and is mated to a 5 speed synchromesh transmission with Hi – Lo option on transfer case. This combined with the Differential Locks on both front and rear axles, makes it capable of extreme off-roading. It also has a great ground clearance of 210 and its distinctive snorkel intake in sparkling chrome finish ensures ample supply of fresh air to the engine which enables the Gurkha to have best in class water fording height.
The Gurkha also comes with a factory fitted air conditioner, power steering and a sporty and sturdy instrument cluster, dual toned interiors, ergonomically designed dashboard and front facing luxurious reclining seats. The car is based on the lines of the legendary Mercedes Gelandewagen (G –Wagon) which make it look decent, but interior quality is not too good. However it does come with great high width tubeless off-road tyres and trendy alloy wheels add to its style quotient.
A good second vehicle, Like to see more images.
Looks nice, but 2.6 Liter….. 82bhp?
Lesson not learnt well, even after FORCE 1 debacle. 82 bhp and EOV? Barely been able to match BOLERO’s off road performance. Why do matured business houses do mistakes like this creating a mockery of themselves?
The look is not attarcting.Iam not sure that it will compete the market.Force motors needs more effort.
It is very plastikey! Front bumper looks too complicated to manufacture & then to maintain when crashed.Consumer will suffer.Too much of jaw dropping face.A small guard & a skid plate will give rugged looks.Look at civilian Hummer whose rugged look is incorporated with soft lines.Lots could be done if Force Motors come to us at MOTOTECH for design.Follow us on https://www.facebook.com/MototechIndia Is anybody reading from Force Motors?
