First European Tesla factory opens in the Netherlands

American car maker, Tesla Motors has just opened its first European assembly plant in the city of Tilburg, the Netherlands. The EV producer will assemble the Model S and the upcoming Model X in the new factory with parts delivered directly from the Freemont plant of Tesla. Initially the plant will see production of 450 cars per week, while the maximum capacity of the assembly line stands at 1,000 units per week.

The Tilburg factory has a 750 meter indoor test track and Tesla CEO Elon Musk added there’s “a lot of room for growth and expansion.” Musk also confirmed the company will experience the opportunity for more European plants in early 2016. It seems that Tesla is very eager to expand globally.
