Fiat India to increase dealership network to 125

Fiat India, the Indian arm of the Italian automobile manufacturer Fiat has announced its plans to expand its dealership network in India from the current 45 dealerships to 125 by the end of 2013. This decision is in line with the carmaker’s target of capturing 5 percent share of the Indian car market by 2016.

In order to strengthen its position in the Indian auto market where major players already have a huge presence, Fiat India is planning to increase its focus on building the brand by introducing new and innovative products in India from its global portfolio.

The Italian carmaker is planning to focus on new product launches and dealership expansion to increase its foothold in the Indian car market from the current 1 percent to 5 percent by 2016. The next three to four years, i.e. by 2016-17, the automaker will be launching a total of nine variants which will include hatchback models, sedans and jeep.
