Honda has revealed that the new Civic Type R powered by a direct injection turbocharged 2-litre engine and will deliver at least 280 PS. The car has already been put through its paces by Honda’s WTCC driver Gabriele Tarquini and a film demonstrating its storming performance and handling on the Nurburgring.
Last year Honda confirmed ambitions for the Civic Type R to become the fastest front wheel drive car around the infamous Nurburgring circuit in Germany. The car still faces a further two years of development before going on sale in 2015 however, on-track testing has already begun. Speaking at the Frankfurt Motor Show Man
Honda has also confirmed the Civic Tourer will achieve impressively low CO2 emissions from just 99g/km and an outstanding 74.3mpg when powered by Honda’s 1.6 i-DTEC engine. The British built Civic Tourer builds on the strengths of the hatchback model, offering class leading boot space and practicality and will go on sale in early 2014.
