Datsun India, the recently revived car brand by Japanese carmaker Nissan has introduced India’s first sub-4 meter Compact MPV at a price of Rs 3,79,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi). The new MPV is being offered in 4 four variants and five color options.
The Datsun GO+ is Datsun’s second car model for the Indian car market after the Datsun GO hatchback. Positioned as a low cost car brand, Datsun has entered India with the strategy of competitive pricing and offering ‘more’ at a lesser cost.

Commenting at the launch of the new compact MPV, Mr. Vincent Cobee Global Head Datsun stated that the carmaker has launched its second car in the Indian market which confirms its commitment to Indian car market. Moreover, the ‘+’ features and competitive pricing of the car model are aimed at making motoring more accessible for Indian customers.
The GO+ boasts of some features which a first in the compact MPV segment. One of the features is the Mobile Docking Station while the other is the extended squared-off estate car styling, enabling a third row of seats and added luggage space.
The Mobile Docking station is available with the top variant T which also features electronic power steering and front power windows. Other first-in-segment features include fatigue reducing front seats with Spinal support, Smart Meter with optimum gear shift indicators and digital trip computer, Follow Me Home headlamps, Intelligent speed sensitive Wipers with Teardrop function, connected front seats and ventilated front disc brakes.
The new Datsun GO+ is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine offering power of 68PS and torque of 104Nm. The mileage of the new car model is claimed to be 20.6 kilometers per liter. The Datsun GO+ is offered by the carmaker with a 2 year/unlimited kilometers warranty; it can be optionally extended for an additional 2 years.
I find it very strange that this car does not have the safety features like Air bags,& ABS. Very bad on part of Nissan to take the Indian people for granted. It speaks a lot on their attitutude towards the safety concerns of the Indian people. In fact the government should not allow any car without these features. Most surprising these are not even available as an option for the people to consider.. A great NO from my side for this car.
