China gets its first electric supercar – the Youxia X

Youxia X

A Chinese company has just unveiled a new electric supercar that is scheduled to go into production in late 2016. The company in question called Youxia and the name of the car has been simply named as ‘X’. The Youxia X takes a lot of its styling cues from Tesla and the sedan is undoubtedly one of the best looking models ever designed in China, which is more commonly known for its ugly knockoffs.

The front grille is actually a display that can screen the brand’s logo, red daytime running lights or a random image. It is surrounded by sweptback headlights with LED technology. At the back there is a stylish boot lid spoiler and LED taillights. Even the interiors take inspiration from Tesla and there is a massive 17.3-inch display on the center console. The infotainment system uses an Android-based operating system and provides a WiFi hotspot, television, remote control vehicle operations and more. Even though it is an electric car, it has the ability to simulate the exhaust sounds of popular supercars, including the Jaguar F-Type, Ferrari 488 GTB, Ferrari Sergio, Ferrari LaFerrari, etc.

The car will be powered by a 344bhp electric motor with 440Nm of torque, taking energy from a 40 kWh, 60 kWh or 85 kWh battery. The car will be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds, while the range is 220 km, 330 km and 460 km, depending on the battery. Production of the X will start in late 2016.
