BMW and Toyota officially join hands

A while ago we had mentioned that Toyota and BMW were planning on merging their talents for fuel cell development and sports car production. Finally the rumors can be put to rest as both companies have now officially announced their partnership. Toyota President Akio Toyoda, and BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer have signed a binding agreement for long-term collaboration. The agreement includes the study of a shared sports vehicle platform by the year’s end, joint development of a hydrogen fuel cell system by 2020, and cooperation in developing lightweight technologies. This is very exciting news as we might see a phenomenal sports car by the end of this year – but what badge will it wear???
