Audi India, the Indian arm of the German luxury automobile manufacturer Audi is planning to assemble the Q3 sports utility vehicle in India with the aim of pricing the car more competitively in the Indian luxury car segment.
The carmaker plans to rope in a new entry level variant for the Q3 named as the Q3 Sport which will boast of a lower price lower by Rs 3,50,000 and will be brought to India through the CKD route or as completely knocked down units.
The Q3 Sport will be equipped with a 2.0 liter diesel engine and will be assembled at the carmaker’s Aurangabad facility. The car model will feature a 6-speed manual transmission.
Some of the features present in the existing Q3 will not be included in the new Q3 sport in order to maintain a low price. These features include the Quattro system and the Audi LED daytime running lights. The Q3 Sport priced at around Rs 25,00,000 will also be the lowest priced Audi model in the Indian luxury car market.
