The German luxury car manufacturer Audi has inaugurated a new luxury car showroom in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) as a part of the company’s drive to expand its dealership network in India in order to boost sales and increase its presence in the Indian luxury car market.
The showroom is the company’s fifth in South India and second in the state of Tamil Nadu, the first one being in the capital city of Chennai. Commenting at the event, Mr. Michael Perschke Head Audi India stated that the company has a strong presence in the South India car market with presence in cities such as Bengaluru, Hydrabad, Kochi and Chennai as well. He added that the company is expanding its network of dealerships with the aim of selling more than 8,000 cars in India by the end of 2012.
Audi India currently has 18 dealerships which it plans to increase to 25 by the end of the year 2012 and to maintain its position as the fastest growing luxury carmaker in India.
