Volkswagen owned German brand Audi’s Indian subsidiary, Audi India is planning to increase its production capacity at its manufacturing facility in Aurangabad in order to facilitate the launch of new car models in India. The company has plans to launch 3 car models in India in the year 2012, for which the company will require a larger production capacity to support sales.
According to Mr. Michael Perschke Audi India Director, the company is in the process of ascertaining the feasibility of the models to be launched in India. The first car model to be launched is the Audi TT coupe which is to hit the Indian market in March 2012. It will be followed by the compact coupe crossover Audi Q3 and the sedan Audi S6.
Mr. Perschke added that the company will add a new line at the Aurangabad facility by the end of 2012 and enhance the production capacity for at least 2 car models.
