Hyundai India, the largest car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer in India has posted an increase of 2.1 percent in its total sales for the month of May 2013. The carmaker sold a total of 56,856 units in the month of May 2013 in comparison to 55,669 units sold in May 2012.
The automaker’s domestic sales grew by 0.3 percent to 32,102 units in May 2013 in comparison to 32,010 units sold in the same month in 2012. The major contribution to the sales growth came from the company’s export operations where sales increased by 4.6 percent from 23,659 units in May 2012 to 24,754 units in May 2013.
According to Mr. Rakesh Srivastava Senior Vice-President Sales and Marketing Hyundai India, the South Korean carmaker has maintained positive growth in the month of May 2013 and is expected to witness further growth with the increase in demand for petrol cars.
