Hyundai India, the second largest car manufacturer and the largest car exporter in India is considering launching an entry level sedan car model with the aim of competing directly with the DZire compact sedan and the newly launched Amaze by Honda.
The new sedan is expected to be a replacement for the existing Accent sedan production of which has been stopped by the South Korean carmaker. According to Mr. Rakesh Srivastava Senior Vice-President (Sales & Marketing) Hyundai India, the entry level sedan segment in India is witnessing tremendous growth and hence the automaker is in the process of conducting feasibility studies for the launch of a product in the segment.
Moreover, the carmaker currently doesn’t have any car model for the entry level segment and would need to develop a sub-four meter sedan in order to compete with existing carmakers in the segment.
